For the bank holiday weekend I took a trip up to Newcastle with my family.
My parents met when they were at Newcastle University so I feel attached to this part of the country even though I haven’t spent much time there.
This weekend it looked so stunning. We drove up to the countryside above Newcastle to visit a gorgeous country house with beauuuutiful gardens called Cragside. If you’re at uni around Newcastle and need a study break it’s definitely worth a trip!! I used to hate being dragged around garden centres and art galleries but my parents have successfully brainwashed me! Although, I have to say, I’m not quite there yet. They haven’t managed to get me actually gardening…
Anyway, once we’d burnt to a cinder in the sunshine, we recuperated with a coffee (of course – what else would I do?). We sat in this courtyard and it looked and felt like Italy. It was so beautiful and so exotic. I loved it!! (as you can probably tell from my massive grin).
We also drove a 6 mile route around the grounds which felt a bit like being on safari minus the lions and monkeys sitting on your car! So, nothing like being on safari… But I enjoyed looking at the sights from the luxury of the car rather than a 6 mile hike!!
As I said, I was a bit obsessed with the plants in the garden, especially the ones that matched my nails. It’s the simple things in life… (I tried to be an au natural hand model for this shot but it definitely looks intentional.)
Thank you so much for reading! I haven’t been able to post much recently because of uni exams but, I have officially finished first year! I really want to post on here more regularly, mainly as a way for myself to remember things like places to go and outfits I loved wearing. But, I am so grateful for anybody that also reads it! Thank you!
