The Northern Series: Newcastle

I love taking photos at this dusk-y time of night. You can still see everything but there’s also a beautiful warm glow from all of the lights. It does help that Newcastle has pretty stunning architecture…

I love the glamour of this city. It feels quite European, especially on this night. I’m not sure it feels quite so sophisticated when you’re freeeeeezing cold in January and it’s chucking it down… But it just has a grandeur and a beauty that I love walking amongst.

As you go down Grey Street, past the Theatre in the photo below, there’s lots of bars and restaurants with tables on the street. There’s people drinking wine or cocktails and chatting.

Basically it is great for some serious people watching, one of my favourite past times (I’m so nosy). I love seeing what people are wearing most of all and, by dusk, people have usually got dressed up for the night!

The Quayside makes for a pretty stunning photo with all of the different bridges on the horizon and the Sage, Gateshead blending into the clouds.

Another of my favourite places is Fenwicks, especially the Food Hall where this restaurant is. Although it’s a miracle I ever get there because you have to pass a huge MAC lipstick counter on the way in!

There’s a few different little restaurants but this one, called Fuego, was definitely my cup of tea! We had tapas-y food, lovely wine (at lunch omg) and, for pudding, these amazing churros.

This photo is a bit random but I just really like it! It’s the sunset looking towards Newcastle from Gateshead.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank you for reading!
